Checking a letter takes one scan

Every letter from ORYS has a QR code. Anyone can scan it and see if the letter is real.

A salary certificate with a QR code next to a phone showing the ORYS letter check page: "Genuine letter from Coral Island Resort", with staff name, letter type, reference and issue date.

Salary certificates and employment letters are used for bank loans, visas and rentals. The person receiving one usually has no easy way to know if it is real, except calling the company.

ORYS letters work differently.

A QR code on every letter

Every letter issued from ORYS has a QR code printed on it. Anyone can scan it with a normal phone camera. No app, no login.

What the scan shows

If the letter is genuine, the page says so, with the company's name, and shows:

  • the staff member's name
  • the type of letter
  • the reference number
  • the date it was issued

The salary is shown only if HR chose to allow it for that letter.

The person checking simply compares these details with the paper in front of them.

If something is wrong

If the code doesn't match any letter, the page says clearly that it is not a genuine ORYS letter, and suggests contacting the company.

If the company has cancelled a letter, the scan shows that too, with the date it was cancelled. An old letter can't be used after it has been withdrawn.

Private by design

The check page shows only those few details, nothing else from the staff record. Each code is long and random, so it can't be guessed. And these pages are hidden from search engines.

For HR, it means fewer phone calls asking "did you really issue this?". For banks and embassies, it means an answer in a few seconds.
